The Sacred Discomfort of Awakening
The longing to return home to yourself transforms from a gentle nudge into a profound form of suffering along the awakening path. Each fleeting glimpse of your true nature intensifies the yearning to permanently embody that core essence. The once-charming enjoyments of believing yourself to be a separate "person" begin to lose their allure, overshadowed by the discovery of something infinitely deeper and more authentic within.
This suffering, far from being an obstacle, is a divinely orchestrated catalyst. It fuels your motivation to seek what is true and to let go of what is illusory, imbuing you with the courage to persist. You fall in love with yourself, as pure awareness, and everything else pales in comparison.
You simultaneously experience the suffering caused by the lingering grip of illusion, and joy and peace as you access your divine emptiness. The chasm between the illusory and the real becomes strikingly obvious, creating an intense yearning for the day when the process is complete.
The Path of Irreversible Liberation
What you're encountering is the deep-seated pain of separation, and there is only one true remedy: liberation. This is not a journey with a return ticket; true awakening is a one-way path. What is surrendered can never be reinstated, nor would you ever desire it to be.
As you shed the layers of the false identity, you discover that no new identity, no matter how seemingly refined or spiritual, can ever create lasting satisfaction. Every attempt to cling to a new concept of "self" will ultimately fall short, leaving you with but a single, undeniable option: to surrender all.
