I would say pre-awakening is the first stage where you're just starting to find out about awakening, and so for me it was in my 20's. I really had no clue what awakening was, I'd never heard of it, and I started to get little seeds of enlightenment that were being planted.

You are the Divine, watching a play of your creation, made up entirely of you. You have no preferences; who lives or dies, what happens to the Earth, whether you become more conscious of yourself or not.

The longing to return home to yourself becomes a form of suffering during the awakening path. Whatever glimpses of your true nature you experience, increase the desire to live from your core essence permanently.
